Cochiti Service and Leadership Trip – October
2014
Behavioral Expectations Agreement Due Tuesday,
September 30
Due to the length, service
nature and outdoor challenge of the Fall trip, students will need to meet the
highest expectations for responsible behavior, similar to what is expected in April
when the group travels to Washington D.C. or what would be expected for the
Peru or India trip. For that reason, participation in the Cochiti Service and
Leadership Trip is contingent upon the signing of this written agreement.
Parents and student are encouraged to review the agreement and camp rules together
before signing.
-
Students will
follow a “three strikes and you’re out” policy.
A strike is earned for behaviors including and not limited to the
examples listed below. Strikes are not given lightly. In order to be earned,
the principal and three adult chaperones must agree.
-
Upon receiving
the 1st strike, a student spends time apart in reflection.
-
If a 2nd
strike is earned, the student and a teacher will call home to notify the parent
that they have two strikes, and participation will be carefully bounded.
-
Should a student receive a 3rd strike,
his/her parent(s)/guardian(s) agree to drive to the Cochiti Lake campsite to retrieve
their child.
Behaviors
that earn a strike include and are not limited to:
o
Any behavior that
puts oneself or others at risk of physical injury.
o
Any behavior that
results in damage to property.
o
Any overt
rudeness to members of the group or the public i.e. poor response to direction
or repeated taunting of persons.
o
Being or meeting
outside of the immediate campsite without permission.
o
Entering ANY tent
other than his/her own.
o
Possessing or
using electronic devices during this ‘unplugged’ trip.
o
Any repeated behavior
that inconveniences others, i.e. being late for departures, meetings or meal
prep and cleanup assignments.
I have read and agree to
abide by the above rules:
