UPDATED COCHITI LAKE PACKING LIST

Snacks: Not needed this year. St. Mary's Academy will provide. 

Supplies:
o   Small day pack (just large enough to carry two water containers, sunscreen, hat, rain poncho or gear, light jacket or extra layer, journal, pen/pencil, extra socks….
o   2 generous water bottles with your name or a personal charm
     attached to identify that the bottles are yours (essential)
o   Sleeping bag (warm)
o   Sleeping pad/cushion (very important for warmth and comfort)
o   Pillow or jacket that can be used as a pillow.
o   Wash rag & bath towel (cold-water camp showers are available)
o   Toilettes/Cleansing Wipes
o   Plastic zip-lock bag with SMALL containers of: deodorant, bug repellant, toothbrush, toothpaste, chapstick (affix name on bag in permanent marker)
o   LOTION sun screen NOT SPRAY and lip protection
o   Hairbrush
o   Flashlight or headlamp with extra batteries
o   Journal and several pens/pencils
o   1 or 2 bandanas

Clothes:
o   3 Long-sleeved shirts (fast-drying material is best)
o   3 short-sleeved shirts (fast-drying material is best)
o   3 pairs of long pants (fast-drying material is best, so jeans/sweats, while fine, will not dry if they become wet)
o   2 pair of cropped pants or long shorts (length at knee or longer)
NO SHORTS above the knee NOR SLEEVELESS TOPS due to the roughness of the environment and in respect as visitors
o   1 Stocking cap for morning and evening chill
o   1 Sun cap or visor
o   1 Pair of warm gloves for morning and evening chill
o   1 Pair of work gloves
o   1 Rain jacket/pants or poncho (very important)
o   1 medium-weight fleece or jacket (very important)
o   1 Pair sturdy shoes
o   1 Pair camp shoes – NO OPEN TOES due to environmental dangers
o   1 Pair of sandals or water shoes for shower
o   NO SANDALS or open-toed shoes may be worn in camp, the worksites or any activity other than while in the shower
o   1 extra pair of shoes to keep in reserve to replace rain-soaked shoes
o   7 Pairs of socks
o   6 Sets of underwear
o   1 Warm sleeping top & bottom (sweat pants and long-sleeved tee are appropriate)

Optional:
o   Cards, board games, soccer ball, football, frisbee, reading material, and tailgate games like corn hole and ladder ball

Not Allowed
o   Electronic gadgets of any kind, such as i-pods, cell phones, cameras, or games. This is an unplugged experience.
o   Hair dryer or electric toothbrush
o   Make-up
o   Personal stashes of candy or food items of any sort due to wildlife being attracted
o   Shorts above the knee
